Ys Origin on Steam. When you think of action- RPGs you probably think of Diablo, Torchlight, and all those other games where a player’s worth is measured in the loot that they acquire. Monsters are essentially piñatas that when killed will explode into an array of multi- colored pieces of equipment. After spending so much time on games such as these, my mind dulls to the point where I stop caring about saving the world, or performing some heroic and death- defying feat. All I really want to do is look at numbers rise. I need an intervention. I need to refocus. I need Ys Origin. XYY syndrome is a genetic condition in which a human male has an extra male (Y) chromosome, giving a total of 47 chromosomes instead of the more usual 46. This produces a 47,XYY karyotype, which occurs every 1 in 1,000 male. The Video Game Remake trope as used in popular culture. While some could argue that video games are an artistic medium on par with movies and literature, …. Game. Music. Downloads Home: Music: My Albums: Register: Donate New! All you really need to know about the Ys Series is that everyone fights with an un- matched level of veracity. Imagine a thousand buzz- saws being shot out of a thousand cannons, and everything they shred also gets set on fire.
The New York Jets play their exhibition finale on Thursday night on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are the ways you can take in the game: When. When the series was still very young, the early games required the player to kill monsters by running at them and striking either of their sides. In a way the later games such as Ys Origin are an extension of this basic design. In the interest of balance, the improved controls and maneuverability means players have to contend with more intense battles. A plethora of difficulty settings assist the player in finding a level of challenge that suits them. The hardest settings deliver an experience akin to a 2. D shooter, where the entire screen is flooded with death. As you’d expect from the title, Ys Origin establishes the roots of the series. Fans will quickly note all of the references to the first entry, which include characters, events, and even boss- battles. In fact, the entirety of the game takes place in Darm Tower, which is essentially where most of Ys 1 also took place. Still, aside from the boss- battles none of this is particularly exciting. This game was originally released in late 2. Steam, an option to skip cut- scenes was never developed. The dialogue is fairly good, but the story is very traditional and there are certain events that have to be sat through. The time spent outside of combat, tends to be really dull. There are three playable characters in this game and each of them has a different fighting style, a few unique bosses to contend with, and their own path in the story. Yunica Tovah is the token cute- girl- with- a- big- axe. Her companions and adversaries are quick to point out her lack of magic ability, but I can’t tell the difference, when she’s summoning firebirds that lay everything to waste. Hugo Fact on the other hand is all about the spells, though his style of play can best be described by the classic arcade shooter Mercs. Expect to run & gun your way through the tower if you play as this wizard. Big brother Toal Fact is unlocked after beating the game with either of the other two characters. His fighting style resembles Wolverine. Basically you go pork or bacon on enemies and claw your way to success. Each adventure should take around six or seven hours to complete, although this can be slightly effected by the difficulty setting. Darm Tower is a lot like Dracula’s Castle in that the forces of evil can shape it to fit their whims. I’m absolutely certain that when I scoured this tower in the first game I did not have to deal with swimming through flooded corridors, jumping over spike- traps, and dealing with that always- necessary lava level. Each level has a theme and by the second or third you’ll figure out everything you need in order to progress. This adventure is almost entirely linear; however you’re free to backtrack in case you missed anything. Unfortunately even though you get some cool powers like the ability to double- jump there really aren’t any instances where you can go back to prior areas to find items you couldn’t get to earlier. This is the same case for all three playable characters, so once you learn the layout, all you have to focus on is the methods for dealing with the demons. The combat is by far the greatest aspect of the Ys series, and the same can be said for this entry. All fights move quickly and multiple types of foes all attacking at once is a regular occurrence. To keep things fair the demons have a “tell” when they’re about to attack (they blink white for half a second). Also, while all demons are capable of hitting very hard, as long as you’re exploiting weaknesses they go down just quickly. If you’re not doing enough damage, usually a level- up will balance things out, and a second or third might even make you slightly overpowered. Still, don’t expect to grind through bosses as experience points drop to about one per kill, which will force you to move on. The boss- battles in this game are especially great, probably among the best in the series. At first I was worried that every boss was going to be a weak- point mashing affair, but each encounter is varied and just awesome. Some demons like The Creeper are not only relentless but can also induce serious headaches by healing themselves in mid- battle. Unlike a few of the other Ys entries there also aren’t any herbs, potions, or elixirs that can be purchased to bail you out. But hey, all this difficulty adds to that feeling of accomplishment. Replay value in Ys Origin is certainly high. After completing the game with all three characters you’re given access to the time- attack, arena mode, and bonus shop. The time- attack is a boss- rush where you can face off against any or all of the major demons for the possibility of a spot on the leaderboards. Arena mode has you dealing with waves upon waves of monsters, if you survive you can use the points you earn to buy prizes from the bonus shop. You can always head back to the tower and attempt the harder difficulties as well. There are plenty of achievements and getting them all practically requires that you master the game. Really there’s not a whole lot that can be said about Ys Origin. There’s no hidden meaning to be found and this is not some life- reaffirming experience that I could write thirty pages on. This is simply an excellent action- RPG that despite being more than a few years old it still contends with among the best the genre has to offer. On the other hand if your experience with the genre has never gotten beyond breaking open monsters and collecting all the armors, swords, and belts they were stowing in their nether regions, then steer clear. This game keeps it focused and judges the player entirely on their ability to evade and strike, luck isn’t a factor in the slightest. Summer Mutual Ideas Your Youth Will Love. Giant Jenga. Why play tabletop Jenga indoors when you can play a more challenging version outside? Played at this scale, it's easier for everyone to gather around and interact, and the tower toppling is even more dramatic! Just get some same- length 2 x 4 blocks (most home- improvement stores will cut the boards any length you want) and set them up on a steady, flat surface like a regular Jenga game. Paint the ends of the blocks in fun colors to give it a bright summertime look! The rules of the game are simple: everyone goes around and takes a turn removing one of the blocks from the tower, until someone slips up and makes the tower fall! International Youth Conference for Peace in the Future. It is not by accident that Volgograd was chosen as a platform for the youth conference: the hero-city has been its active participant since 2005. The Huish Activity Center will be available during all seasons. This facility is a game room with three pool tables, two Ping-Pong tables, two air hockey. The Aspen Grove manager on duty during your Youth Conference will make judgment calls pertaining to the availability/safety of certain activities.. Store the game in a plastic storage bin to reuse in later activities. This one's a keeper! Frisbee Tic Tac Toe. Tic Tac Toe may seem like the simplest game in the world, but it becomes much more of a challenge when you play it with frisbees! Buy a cheap tablecloth or shower curtain, and use cheap colored tape to make a Tic Tac Toe grid. You'll need about 1. Frisbees for this, so you can either buy them in two colors (to divide them between the two teams), or you can use Frisbees of various colors that have Xs and Os on them made with colored tape. Have the teams stand behind a line and take turns trying to get their frisbees into rows of three! It's harder than you think! For more Frisbee games, check out Frisbee Golf or Frisbee Dodgeball. Frisbees can be used for all sorts of competitions! 3. Human Foosball. Photo and instructions from Heather at howdoesshe. This game is just like tabletop foosball, but with real people! You'll need PVC pipe, duct tape, a soccer ball, and at least ten people to play this. Start by duct taping your PVC pipe together to make several long poles (the length depends on the size of the area where you're playing, and the number of people you're playing with). Evenly place the poles across your playing area, and mark the poles' positions on either side with cones or tape (depending on the surface). Players holding onto that pole can't step outside of the marked area. Designate a goal at either end of the playing area. Each team has a goalie who can use their hands, but everyone else must have at least one hand on their pole at all times. Set up the teams like a foosball table team (see this diagram for help), and go at it! 4. Water Balloon Pinata. This is bound to result in general watery mayhem, so be prepared to get wet! Take regular- sized round balloons and fill them with water. Tie the balloons to a thin rope strung between trees or poles, then let the youth use plastic baseball bats to try and bust them open. It's harder than you'd think, and the resulting splash is sure to get everyone soaked! Pair this with a slip 'n slide, water balloon volleyball, or just a good old- fashioned water balloon fight for a very refreshing activity. For less clean- up afterwards, provide sponges for the youth to soak and throw at each other! 5. Spray Away. Have youth test their marksmanship with this classic carnival game! Drill holes in a 2x. Set up ping- pong balls on the tees, and have youth race to see who can hit them all off the fastest using squirt guns. Make multiple tee planks for team races, and make it more challenging by having them stand farther away! 6. Outdoor Movie Party. For those lazy summer evenings, set up a projector and movie screen in someone's backyard, have youth bring cushions and blankets to sit on, and enjoy an outdoor movie! If you really want to get fancy, you can set up a concession table on the side for popcorn and other snacks, and string up lights around the perimeter so youth can see where they're going. Water Balloon Volleyball. This game is simple to put together and is great for building teamwork! Divide into two teams, and volley a water balloon over the net using only towels and blankets held between teammates. The team that lets the balloon fall to the ground or break loses a point! You will get wet! This game can have a lot of variety. You can play with only one water balloon, or use two to make it extra challenging. You can have teammates pair up and hold a towel between them, or have the whole team use a single large blanket. Make sure to have lots of water baloons on hand, because it can get pretty crazy! Football Practice. Photo from Spoonful (originally in Family. Fun Magazine)Yet another carnival game that's fun for all ages and easy to make yourself! Cut different- sized holes in a cheap tarp, line the holes with colorful duct tape, and mark each hole with a different point value. String the tarp up so that it's perpendicular to the ground, and have youth compete to see who can get the most points in 1. Slip 'n Slide. You're never too old to enjoy a good old- fashioned slip 'n slide. Lay plastic table cloths or tarps out on a lawn, cover them with dish soap or shaving cream, spray with water, and let the youth go crazy! Just make sure not to use a black tarp or it'll get really hot. And be aware that this can damage the grass. Yard Twister. Again, why play indoors when you can play this classic game outside in the sun? You'll need four colors of spray paint- -red, yellow, green, and blue. Cut a large circle out of cardboard or an empty pizza box, and use it as a stencil to paint a Twister board right on your lawn! There should be four rows (one of each color) with six circles each. You can make it bigger for more people, but make sure each the circles aren't too far apart! It'll be tricky enough as it is! Missionary Tag. There are so many variations of tag that your youth can enjoy, but Missionary Tag is a classic and involves more teamwork than other variations. Everyone pairs up, standing side- by- side with arms linked (hopefully you have an even number of people). The pairs should be spread out. Choose one pair to start the game as It and the first person to be chased. As long as you're in a pair, you're safe from the person who's It. But when someone is being chased, they can link arms with someone in a pair, and the person on the other end is now the one running! 1. Noodle Wars. This game is a personal favorite and never fails to entertain! All you need is two pool noodles and two blindfolds. Have everyone stand in a circle (this works best if you have lots of people, but it's okay if you don't). Blindfold two people and put them in the middle of the "arena." Have someone spin them around while you place the pool noodles (quietly) on the ground in the arena. When you tell them to go, the blindfolded competitors must find a pool noodle and hit their opponent before their opponent hits them. Players forming the circle should snap their fingers if one of the blindfolded players comes too close to the edge of the arena, but otherwise everyone should be as quiet as possible. This is hard to do- -it can get pretty hilarious! Pass the Pudding. This game is super messy, so have your youth dress appropriately! Divide your youth into pairs, and have them lay on their backs so that the tops of their heads touch and their feet point in opposite directions. Everyone gets a pudding cup and a spoon, but you can't eat your own- -your partner has to feed you! This game is best played on the grass, because even with good communication and superb coordination, everyone's bound to get pudding all over the place! Capture the Flag (With Marshmallows!)Capture the Flag is a fun enough game on its own, but step it up a notch by adding marshmallow shooters to the mix! You can have everyone make their own marshmallow shooter, or provide them yourself. To make one, just cut the bottom off of a plastic cup, and cut the top off of a balloon. Tie off the bottom of the balloon, then cover the bottom of the plastic cup with the balloon, securing it in place with strong tape. Now you have a first- class marshmallow shooter! Play Capture the Flag as you normally would, but instead of tagging opponents to get them out, players must hit their opponents with marshmallows! Each player should start with a pocketfull of marshmallows, but if they run out of ammo, they'll have to recover some that have already been launched! 1. Water Gun Painting. If you're looking for a summery, outdoor craft project, this one is great! Find a few cheap water guns and fill them with a 5. Tempra paint. Set out a drop cloth to protect the lawn, and make sure it's okay for the surrounding area (and whatever's supporting your canvases) to get paint on it. Prop up a canvas for each of your youth (you can find them fairly cheap at Hobby Lobby) and let them create something unique with squirt gun paint! You can provide painter's tape for the youth to make cool designs. Just make sure to let the paint dry completely before you remove the tape! What other summer activities do your youth enjoy? If you’re looking for ways to review General Conference in Family Home Evening, Young Women, Sunday School, or Seminary class, you’ve come to the right place. These ideas are mostly from Seminary teachers, but you can use them in many different situations: 1. Fantasy General Conference. For Fantasy General Conference, students make guesses about who will be conducting which session, when each apostle will speak, what new temples might be announced, and what color the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will wear. The intent is to help students pay attention during conference. Cheryl K. explains, “We will do Fantasy General Conference ahead of time, where the teams make their picks as to who will speak, how many red ties, which topics, etc. There is a Facebook Page for it, as well as a downloadable printout.” See https: //www. Fantasy…/3. 11. 33. Bring in Questions. Provide each student a 3×5 inch card and assign students to bring in questions from general conference (with answers). When I did this in my Seminary class, I asked the class president to remind students to text students and remind them to bring in their questions. I also usually throw in a few fill in the blank style questions myself in case students forget. Here’s what I’ve said about this idea: “In the past I’ve passed out a paper for kids to write down two questions with answers — 1 easy and 1 difficult — from the Sunday morning session. Then I ask the class their own questions during the Monday class following Conference. It means all I have to do is show up.”Kristine M does it slightly differently: “We give them five 3×5 cards to write questions on from the 4 sessions (no priesthood ones). We use it for Genreral conference review. One year I brought in cupcakes and we had a ‘celebration’ to get ready for Conference on Friday. The problem with April conference is we generally have Sprjng Break the week afterwards so it can be hard to get the kids to do the cards, remember to bring them, etc. The first day back is a lot of [chatter] about the talks, the stories, things that stood out to them, etc. I’m always impressed with how well they listen, how much they watch, etc.”3. Assign an Apostle. Abish D. assigns her students an apostle on the last day of Seminary before Conference. Students are to come to class ready to report on that apostle’s talk with a summary. She says, “It’s been great. They share a summary of the talk and then the whole class adds to their comments. I love this because then we cover most of the talks instead of just the ‘popular’ talks and everyone has something to share. I think it’s also helping my students see there is value in Saturday conference.”4. Use Technology. Mitzi C says, “I went to http: //polleverywhere. We will have the poll questions and answers on the TV screen live so then we can discuss the answers a great way to use technology and keep students engaged.”5. Chalk Talk. Chalk Talk“For our #ldsconf‬ review, I had the kids do a ‘Chalk Talk’ where they come up to the front and write down what they remember or liked from Conference silently. Then we discuss the items on the board. This is always a good activity because it leads to good discussions. I also showed some of the tweets from Conference on the television.”6. Conference Trivia, Bingo, Bowl, or Jeopardy. Several members of the church post their General Conference trivia questions, bingo games, or Jeopardy- style games online. Just Google for it. You might make your own game like Julie H: “We always do conference jeopardy…they take notes (some do) and they are in their ‘zones’ [assigned groups] to answer the questions. We talk about each thing and how it applies to us. I usually do like 5 categories then I do a classmate category with things about each person in the class, including me. So fun! They love it. It does involve prep time but its a great way to review conference.”Donna H shared, “What we do I got from NWSeminary website. On the Monday right after General Conference, I do a Conference Bowl. I watch all sessions and write notes to get questions (and answers) from the talks. I want the students to do the questions, but most usually don’t. They do love the bowl though. The entire class is devoted to it. It’s set up kind of like the Family Feud game, with 2 teams, BUT they only come up and ring the service bell (off of 2 smartphones with service bell apps). It’s so much fun. Each member of the winning team receives a full size candy bar each and the other team gets more like a fun size bar each.”7. Watch for Scripture Mastery. Rebecca B says, “We actually have a little competition in our seminary class to see who hears the most SM references. I got 2. 7 this conference, but I know I missed some.”  Susanne B. I’m in so much trouble. I told my students I would give them a candy bar for each scripture [mastery] they could point to in a specific talk. I have 1. 7 students. There were at least 3 scripture masteries in the first session. I’m going out for more candy…. I’m going to be broke!”Dorianne V shared: “It’s so funny, we’ve been working on memorizing [Helaman 5: 1. I said, ‘I bet we’ll hear this scripture in conference,’ and my daughter in the class said, ‘We should all stand and recite it when we hear it and be united.’ I was madly messaging all my students this morning every time we heard it. See??? I TOLD YOU!’ LOL!”8. Have a Lesson between Sessions. Katrina M shared: ” We had a seminary class in between sessions, and it was amazing how many of the things we talked about were addressed in the morning session. It was like it was for us! Incredible! I can’t wait for tomorrow!”9. Offer Makeup Work for Watching Conference. In this area, we offer 2 absences or 4 tardies for each session of Conference students watch. This encourages participation in conference and helps be sure that students are able to talk about the material during class the next day. Mitzi C says, “[Students] have been asked to take notes and then write a paragraph on what the talk meant to them or what they will do to apply it to their live. These will count for make up absences and excessive tardies.”“I make donuts and have them come over to my home on Sunday. We discuss conference, with each of them reporting on the talks that meant the most to them and why. That is how they earn their donuts. I also count it as a make up day,” says Michelle W. Create a Treasure Box of Quotes. Connie H’s “class usually comes over on Saturday to watch the first session with me. I make sure they take notes. On Monday we talk about conference. I give them slips of paper to write their favorite thought or quote on. The papers go into our ‘treasure box.’ Then when we have extra time after a lesson, we pull out a paper and talk about it.”  Great Five Minute Filler! Physical Reminder. Wendy T says, “I give my students a small token (this year it will be a plastic green army man) on the Friday before the women’s broadcast. They are supposed to always have it with them and remember the theme we’ve talked about leading up to conference. This year since my husband is currently deployed our theme has been the importance of putting on the armor of God. I check twice in class to see if they have it and they get a small food treat if they do. Then after conference we share some of our impressions.”1. Check Twitter. Go to http: //twitter. You’ll find thousands of pithy statements, memes, and observations from General Conference that can spark a discussion in your class. Set a Goal or Issue a Challenge. Get an inexpensive copy of the Book of Mormon and look for examples of people or individuals who received strength beyond their own and record what you learn. The spirit will inspire you. Amy G shared this idea: “One of the handouts I made for a few years was just a one page deal. I ripped it off from the Disneyland/World commercial they show at the end of the super bowl and other big events. Across the handout I said, ‘You’ve just watch General Conference, what are you going to do next?’ The page had a small box for a goal or an application from each of the First Presidency’s and Apostles’ talks and an explanation at the top that they should think about one thing that each talk made them want to do or change, etc. On the back of the page I had all 2. Paula H also shared the following: “I gave my youth a challenge from Elder David A Bednar’s book The Power to Become. I just changed it up a bit. I am having them write down examples from the Book of Mormon of those who received ‘strength beyond their own,’ and then during conference write down the examples they hear in the talks.”1. Who Said That? Brenda C and Abish D shared how they print out quotes or memes from General Conference and display them around the room. Brenda numbers hers and lets students go around the room guessing who said which quote. Listen for an Answer. One teacher asked her students to write down some specific questions, temptations, problems, or trials they currently had. Students were invited to listen to General Conference and try to find answers to their problems at General Conference. Conclusion. There are many more ways to review General Conference. The design of online games can range from simple text- based environments to the incorporation of complex graphics and virtual worlds.[5] The prominence of online components within a game can range from being minor features, such as an online leaderboard, to being part of core gameplay, such as directly playing against other players. Many online games, especially MMORPG, create their own online communities, while other games, especially social games, integrate the players' existing real- life communities.[3]Traditionally, researchers thought of motivations to use computer systems to be primarily driven by extrinsic purposes and have designed these systems accordingly; however, use of online games is by intrinsic motivations such as fun, relaxation, competition, achievement and learning, which considerations must drive their design.[9]Online game culture sometimes faces criticisms for an environment that might promote cyberbullying, violence, and xenophobia. Some gamers are also concerned about gaming addiction or social stigma.[7] Online games have attracted players from a variety of ages, nationalities, and occupations.[1. Online game content can also be studied in scientific field, especially gamers' interactions within virtual societies in relation to the behavior and social phenomena of everyday life.[1. LAN protocols (such as IPX) and onto the Internet using the TCP/IP protocol. Doom popularized the concept of deathmatch, where multiple players battle each other head- to- head, as a new form of online game. Since Doom, many first- person shooter games contain online components to allow deathmatch or arena style play. And by popularity, first person shooter games are becoming more and more widespread around the world. And FPS (First Person Shooter) games are now becoming more of an art form because of the required skills and strategy with teammates. More first person shooter competitions are formed to give players a chance to showcase their talents individually or on a team. The kind of games that are played at the more popular competitions are Counter- Strike, Halo, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Quake Live and Unreal Tournament. Competitions have a range of winnings from money to hardware. Hero shooter[edit]Expansion of hero shooters, a subgenre of shooter games, happened in 2. Battleborn, Overwatch, and Paladins). Real- time strategy game (RTS)[edit]Early real- time strategy games often allowed multiplayer play over a modem or local network. As the Internet started to grow during the 1. LAN protocols used by the games over the Internet. By the late 1. 99. RTS games had native Internet support, allowing players from all over the globe to play with each other. Services were created to allow players to be automatically matched against another player wishing to play, or lobbies were formed where people could meet in "rooms" to play a game. Popular RTS games with online communities have included Age of Empires, Sins of a Solar Empire, Star. Craft and Warhammer 4. Dawn of War. Multiplayer online battle arena game (MOBA)[edit]A specific subgenre of strategy video games referred to as multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) gained popularity in the 2. Defense of the Ancients mod for Warcraft III, its Valve- developed sequel Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm and League of Legends. Massively multiplayer online game (MMO)[edit]Massively multiplayer online games were made possible with the growth of broadband Internet access in many developed countries, using the Internet to allow hundreds of thousands of players to play the same game together. Many different styles of massively multiplayer games are available, such as: Console game[edit]Xbox Live was launched in November 2. Initially the console only used a feature called system link, where players could connect two consoles using an Ethernet cable, or multiple consoles through a router. With the original Xbox Microsoft launched Xbox Live, allowing shared play over the internet. A similar feature exists on the Play. Station 3 in the form of the Play. Station Network, and the Wii also supports a limited amount of online gaming. However, Nintendo has come with a new network dubbed "Nintendo Network", and it now fully supports online gaming with the Wii U console. Cross- platform online game[edit]As consoles are becoming more like computers, online gameplay is expanding. Once online games started crowding the market, networks, such as the Dreamcast, Play. Station 2, Game. Cube and Xbox took advantage of online functionality with its PC game counterpart. Games such as Phantasy Star Online have private servers that function on multiple consoles. Dreamcast, PC, Macintosh and Game. Cube players are able to share one server. Earlier games, like 4x. Evolution, Quake III Arena and Need for Speed: Underground also have a similar function with consoles able to interact with PC users using the same server. PC] - Xenophobia | Page 3. Many games are optimized for use with the device's additional gaming controls, including the video game streaming service On. Live.[2. 5]History[edit]Development[edit]Reports of a Play. Station smartphone have existed as early as 2. Sony Computer Entertainment filed a patent for a Play. Station Phone.[2. Rumors of such a device resurfaced again in 2. Sony Ericsson executive announced that they were developing a device for gaming, and plans to use the Xross. Media. Bar in its devices.[2. In June 2. 00. 7, head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, David Reeves, denied the existence of such a device saying that he had no knowledge of such a device being developed.[2. During the 2. 00. Games Convention, Peter Ahnegard, an executive at Sony Ericsson, further fueled rumors of a Play. Station Phone, when asked about the device he said that "It's obviously something that we're looking at but right now I can't really comment".[2. In the early 2. 00. Sony Magazine reported that "a new PSP- style phone is apparently in development".[3. In early 2. 00. 9, it was reported that plans for a Play. Station Phone has been cancelled as Sony were unwilling to license the Play. Station brand to Sony Ericsson unless Sony would produce the handset independently. This subsequently prompted a fallout between Sony and Sony Ericsson.[3. In May 2. 00. 9, rumors of such a device arose once again when then head of Sony Ericsson, Hideki Komiyama, told the Financial Times in an interview that as part of his recovery plan for Sony Ericsson, he would like to combine the Play. Station brand with their phones similar to how they had created the Walkman and Cyber- shot lines of mobile phones.[3. In June 2. 00. 9, The Nikkei reported that Sony Ericsson were developing a "cellphone- game gear hybrid" as a competitor to Apple'si. Phone, combining the functionality of a mobile phone and a handheld gaming device.[3. Images surface[edit]In early 2. Wall Street Journal reported that Sony was getting ready to release a smartphone able to download and play video games.[3. The first solid details about the phone came via Engadget in August 2. Android, it is a sliding phone with a button configuration similar to the PSP Go, with some technical specifications.[2. Pictures of the device were leaked to the internet when Engadget released pictures of a prototype running Android 2. PSP Go like form factor with a touch pad and micro. SD card support.[2. Several sites however, have questioned the legitimacy of the images of the device in question, though Engadget has rebuked these theories and shown their proven track record of leaked devices which include the i. Pad, 2. 01. 0 Mac. Book Air and the Nexus One.[1. More images of the device were released by Engadget on October 2. Android 2. 2 Froyo and showing its model as "Zeus", it adds that there are several of these devices in internal testing stages with at least one device running Android 2. Gingerbread.[3. 5] A video showing the device in the wild in Greece was leaked on December 1, 2. It showed the device running Android 2. Sony Ericsson Z1 though this has not been confirmed by multiple sources.[3. Two days later, more videos were leaked. They were far clearer, showing the device clearly, with a "Play. Station" icon on the phone which displays a Xross. Media. Bar- themed interface when selected.[3. On January 5, 2. 01. Engadget published more photos of what seems to be the final design for the device as it bears both the Play. Station and Xperia brands which weren't on the prototypes.[1] The day after, several other clearer photos and videos of the device was leaked revealing what seems to be its final design, specs, and its benchmark score of 5. On January 1. 0, 2. Play. Station games was released. Though it is unclear whether the games were being played through official software or an emulator of the original Play. Station console.[3. On January 1. 2, 2. Chinese website released pictures of what looked like the device disassembled with the parts spread out and the casing removed.[3. Official announcement[edit]On February 6, 2.
